Tealicious is a husband and wife team, Katie and Nigel.
Nigel is a professionally trained Tea Taster and since 2014 they are Tealicious Ltd.
Our tea is sourced from members of The Ethical Tea Partnership and Rainforest Alliance and all our packaging is reusable, recyclable and compostable.
And of course, being loose leaf tea, we avoid the up to 25% plastic used in most tea bags and all the unnecessary packaging to put it on the shelf.
We have been working with Ecologi UK since October 2020 and are a Carbon Neutral business.
We are based in Southsea, Hampshire but our teas are sold throughout the UK – From Aberdeen in Scotland to Abergavenny in Wales, from Banbridge in Northern Ireland to Clacton in England, you will find our teas in shops, cafes and refill outlets.
As many Tea Companies do not have much, if any, tea expertise I thought I should give a brief summary of mine:
I joined Lyons Tetley as a Trainee Tea Taster and after more than 35 years ‘steeped in tea’ I took early retirement and went full time with Tealicious.
As I left Tata Global Beverages, one of the two biggest tea companies in the world, I was Director of Primary Tea Buying with responsibility for 5 international offices buying more than 60 million kilos of tea per year.
I have visited most tea growing countries including some of the less well known such as Indonesia, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, Burundi and Turkey. I also lived in Kolkata, India for a year.
I have given press, radio and television interviews in Australia, America and Canada as well as across the UK and Europe.
My knowledge of tea comes from years of tasting, buying and blending tea and I have an in depth understanding of consumer’s needs in many different markets.
(I have also appeared on Egg Heads but as we lost, I tend not to mention that!)
We love the teas from Tealicious. The Breakfast Blend is our best-selling tea and my personal favourites are the Simply Redbush and Peppa Mint. I never used to like mint tea until I tried this lovely loose tea version, it’s so fresh and a real pick me up. The Merry Berry is also very popular as unlike many fruit teas, it actually tastes as good as it smells!
